Fiona's thorough knowledge and study of historical costume (she has lectured for, and currently sits on the committee of the The Northern Society of Costume and Textiles) enables her to design forward thinking, elegantly cut gowns for all tastes - whether your preference is for sophisticated, adventurous or classically romantic styles, she will create your ideal. Upon approcal of the design, a pattern is specially drafted and from it a succession of three calico toiles are produced. These enable the bride to see the progression of her gown, incorporating any alternative detailing for discussion and approval. The flexibility of the toiling process achieves a flattering fit for all figure types, eliminationg the need for alterning in the chosen silks. This ensures an impeccable Couture finish and a beautifully sculptural line.

Doreen Thomson's bespoke millinery adds the finishing touch to any ensemble. Each style is designed taking into account the face shape of the wearer, then fitted using traditional millinery techniques. Her extenstive 40 year career encompasses the design and teaching of millinery, theatrical costume and pattern technology.

By combining their skills, a truly coordinated look can be achieved for the whole bridal party, if so desired. Attendant's gowns and accessories perfectly compliment the bride's ensemble, with hand finished waistcoats and cravats designed for the stylish groomsmen.

Each bride receives the same personal attention, whether she desires a stunningly simple design for a wedding abroad or a richly embellished gown, inspired by our extensive knowledge of modern and historical costume.
